  2. family relationships and contemporary
  3. American values, and include Death of a
  4. Salesman 1949 and The Crucible 1953, based on
  5. the Salem witch trials and reflecting the
  6. communist witch-hunts of Senator Joe
  7. McCarthy. He was married 1956-61 to the film
  8. star Marilyn Monroe, for whom he wrote the
  9. film The Misfits 1960. Among other plays are
  10. All My Sons 1947, A View from the Bridge
  11. 1955, and After the Fall 1964, based on his
  12. relationship with Monroe. He also wrote the
  13. television film Playing for Time 1980.
